Everything this feature does for you.

Overhead per billable hour

Enter monthly costs once — truck, insurance, tools, software. JobPricer folds the per-hour share into every quote automatically.

Live margin on every quote

Watch margin % update as you add line items. Adjust before the customer sees a price, not after the job loses money.

Take-home after taxes

Projected owner take-home after overhead and a self-employment tax rate you set. Track it against an annual income goal.

Actual vs. estimated

Log real hours and expenses per job and compare against the quote. See which job types run hot and fix the leak.

Margin by job type

Dashboard shows average margin by service — so you know which work deserves more of your calendar.

Free calculators too

The overhead, hourly-rate, and markup calculators on this site run the same math — the app just makes it automatic.

Common questions.

How does JobPricer know my overhead?
You enter monthly business costs once in Settings. It divides them across your billable hours and folds that into every quote.
What's a healthy margin for a contractor?
Most trades target 10–20%+ net margin after labor, materials, and overhead. The key is knowing yours — most contractors are guessing.
Is the take-home number accurate?
It's an estimate built from your income, overhead, and a tax rate you set (default 25%). Close enough to plan with; your accountant does the real filing.
Can I compare quoted vs. actual?
Yes — Pro tracks actual hours and expenses per job and shows variance against the quote.
Do other tools show this?
Most contractor software tracks revenue. JobPricer tracks what you keep — overhead, margin, and take-home are first-class numbers, not an afterthought.
