Quick boilerplate
JobPricer is an AI-native, all-in-one quoting, booking, and profit-tracking app built for solo and small contractors. Founded in 2025 by a working contractor with 500+ completed jobs, it's a mobile-first alternative to legacy tools like Jobber and Housecall Pro — with a real free plan competitors don't offer, AI quoting included on every tier, and pricing built for one- and two-person operations ($0 / $49 / $99 per month). The marketing site is at

About the founder
Craig is a working contractor who completed 500+ jobs before building JobPricer. He started the company after years of underpricing work, losing margin to overhead he couldn't see, and bouncing between four pieces of software that none of his contractor friends would actually use. He built JobPricer to be the tool he wished he'd had on the truck. He's available for interviews on building software for the trades, AI in small-business workflows, and the economics of solo contracting.

Story angles
Topics Craig is happy to speak to:
- Contractor-built software. What's different when the founder has actually swung the hammer — what the "field-service" SaaS category misses.
- AI that's actually useful for solo businesses. Why AI quoting is included on the free plan instead of sold as a $50 add-on.
- The "real free plan" wedge. Why solo contractors are underserved by $50–$300/mo SaaS and what changes when the floor is $0.
- Building in public. How a public roadmap, a public blog, and a direct line to the founder change the relationship with customers.
- The economics of solo contracting. Overhead per hour, billable vs. worked hours, and why most "busy" contractors aren't actually making money.
