Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

JobPricer is AI-powered quoting, booking, invoicing, and payments software built for solo and small contractors. The contact for any privacy question is hello@jobpricer.app.

2. What data we collect

• Account info — your name, email, phone number, business name, and the password (hashed) you set when you sign up.
• Business data — clients, quotes, invoices, jobs, photos, schedules, rates, and overhead figures you enter, and receipts you upload.
• Payment data — for paid plans and for accepting customer payments, we use Stripe (including Stripe Connect). Stripe collects card details directly; we never see or store full card numbers. See §4 below on the Stripe Connect platform relationship.
• AI prompts & outputs — when you use AI quote drafting, receipt extraction, or transcription features, the job description, receipt image, or audio and your saved rates are sent to our AI provider (OpenAI) to generate the draft. Outputs are returned to your account.
• Messaging — for customer SMS you send through JobPricer, message contents, phone numbers, and delivery status are processed by our SMS provider. See §7 on SMS/TCPA responsibilities.
• Usage data — basic, non-identifying information about which features you use, so we can improve the product.
• Support communications — emails or messages you send us, including any attachments.
• Cookies & local storage — used to keep you signed in and remember your preferences. No third-party advertising cookies on this site.

3. How we use your data

• To provide and operate the JobPricer service.
• To bill you on paid plans and to process customer payments on your behalf via Stripe Connect.
• To send transactional emails and, if you opt in, product update emails.
• To respond to support requests.
• To improve the product based on aggregated usage patterns.
• To detect fraud, abuse, and unauthorized access.

4. Subprocessors — who we share data with

We do not sell your data. We share the minimum data required with the following subprocessors:

• Google Firebase / Google Cloud — authentication and primary data storage. Each account is isolated by security rules.
• Netlify — website hosting and serverless functions (for feedback forms, lead capture, etc.).
• Stripe (incl. Stripe Connect) — payment processing. JobPricer operates as a Stripe Connect platform: you connect your own Stripe account to accept customer payments. Free-tier accounts pay a 2% platform fee on client payments; Pro and Business accounts pay a 0% platform fee (only Stripe's own processing rates apply). Card-fee passthrough, if enabled, is configured by you and shown to your customer at checkout.
• OpenAI — AI quote drafting, receipt extraction, and transcription. OpenAI does not use your prompts or outputs to train its models under our API terms.
• Resend — transactional email delivery (account confirmations, quote notifications, receipts).
• SMS provider (QUO / OpenPhone) — outbound SMS to your customers from the app.
• Law enforcement — only when legally compelled (subpoena, court order).

We update this list when subprocessors change. Material changes are announced via email or in-app banner.

5. AI features — what they are and are not

JobPricer includes AI-powered quote drafting, receipt extraction, and transcription. AI-generated quotes, prices, and extracted values are estimates and suggestions. You review and approve every AI output before it reaches a customer or your books. We make no warranty that AI output is accurate, complete, or fit for any particular job.

6. Tax estimates — not tax advice

JobPricer may show suggested tax set-aside figures based on your reported income and a tax rate you set. These are estimates for planning purposes only, not tax advice. Your real tax liability depends on your deductions, entity type, state, and other factors — please work with a licensed accountant.

7. SMS & TCPA responsibilities

You may use JobPricer to send SMS messages to your customers (quote follow-ups, booking confirmations, appointment reminders, marketing). You are responsible for obtaining and documenting consent from your recipients as required by the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA), CAN-SPAM, and applicable state laws. JobPricer provides consent-capture on lead forms and honors opt-outs, but you are the sender of record for messages initiated from your account.

8. Anonymized aggregate data

We may use anonymized, aggregated pricing and job data (never tied back to you or your customers) to improve the product — for example, to build a market-pricing feature that helps contractors benchmark against local averages. If you do not want your data included in future aggregate features, contact us and we will exclude your account.

9. Data ownership, export, and deletion

You own your business data. You can export your data (clients, quotes, invoices, jobs) as CSV or JSON at any time from Settings. If you close your account, you can request full deletion of your data by emailing hello@jobpricer.app; deletion is completed within 30 days, except where retention is required by law (financial records — typically 7 years).

10. Data retention

We keep your data for as long as your account is active. See §9 for what happens when you close your account.

11. Your rights

You can at any time:

• Access — download your data from the in-app Export Data tool (CSV/JSON).
• Correct — edit any of your data inside the app.
• Delete — close your account from Settings; email us to trigger full deletion.
• Object / restrict — email hello@jobpricer.app with your request.

EU users have rights under GDPR. California users have rights under CCPA/CPRA. Email us with the subject line "Privacy request" and we will respond within 30 days.

12. Cookies

We use only essential cookies and local storage to keep you signed in and remember your settings. No advertising cookies on this site.

13. Children

JobPricer is a business tool and is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16.

14. International transfers

Our service runs on Google Cloud infrastructure, which may process data in regions outside your home country (most often the United States). By using JobPricer, you consent to these transfers, which are protected by appropriate safeguards.

15. Security

We protect your data with industry-standard measures including encryption in transit (HTTPS) and at rest. For details, see our Security page.

16. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. The "Effective" date at the top reflects the latest revision. Material changes will be announced via email or a banner in the app.
